Meeting minutes of 4th of July 2012 audio conference Present: Cedric Adjih Daniel Camara Hana Baccouch Jean-Marie Gorce Thierry Turletti Tao Wang Walid Dabbous Meeting opening: 10:00 I - State of the project * Planete - Bake is evolving, now it is possible to build DCE-ns-3 - Bake is being evaluated by the ns-3 community and may be adopted by the ns-3 project right on the next version - The Contiki adaptation project is advancing and we should have a usable version on the end of July * Socrate - The work of porting the Wiplan core calculation functions to C++ is advancing and should be completed by September - More discussions should be conducted, but it could be possible that the entire code, including Wiplan, would be released as open source for the community * Hipercom - Implementation of EY-NPMA (Elimination Yield Non-pre-emptive Multiple Access) is being conducted - EY-NPMA is being implemented adapting the existent ns-3 WiFi module and handles already 10 nodes - EY-NPMA uses a congestion avoidance mechanism where signalling bursts are sent to decide who has the right to use the channel - Routing algorithms were created, but more as a way for the team to understand better ns-3. This work is now on hold, waiting for the EY-NPMA implementation to be finished II - Next steps * Planete - Work on the integration and extension of the Contiki adaptation problem. This work interests, and has impact, on the works of both Socrate and Hipercom teams - It is possible that Hipercom could allocate one Junior Engineer to follow the work done on the Planet team over the next year - Improve and perform error corrections on ns-3 - Work with the other teams to create a consistent packaging for all the modules developed on the MOBSIM project * Socrate - Finalization of the port of the core calculation functions - Work on the interface between ns-3 and wiplan * Hipercom - Improve tests and documentation for the EY-NPMA implementation - Improve the work on routing III - Overall comments * The work done by the teams, on their own modules, has advanced * Cooperation have been established, on different areas, and such cooperation should even be improved in the future * For the next year we need to work towards an uniform solution/packaging for MOBSIM
